Jewellery Care Guide
A little care keeps every piece shining for years. Each product page also shows the care tips for that piece.
✨ Everyday care
- Put your jewellery on last, after perfume, make-up and hairspray, and take it off first.
- Take it off before a bath, swimming, the gym, cooking or sleeping.
- After wearing, wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth to remove sweat and oil.
- Store each piece separately in its zip pouch or box, away from damp places like the bathroom.
🌟 Gold, rose gold and silver plating
- Keep perfume, deodorant, hand sanitiser and lotion away: they fade the plating fastest.
- Never use polish, liquid cleaners, toothpaste or a rough cloth on it.
- If it looks dull, wipe with a soft cotton cloth very lightly dampened with water, then dry it completely.
- Keep it in an airtight pouch; air and moisture make plating tarnish.
🖤 Oxidised jewellery
- The dark antique look is the design: do not polish it to make it shine.
- Clean it with a dry soft cloth or a soft toothbrush, never with water or soap.
- Store it airtight (a zip pouch is perfect) so it does not darken unevenly.
👑 Kundan, polki, meenakari and mirror work
- The stones are set by hand: keep the piece away from water and heat, which loosen them.
- Do not bend, press or pull the piece; hold it by the edges.
- Dust it with a soft dry make-up brush; never rub the coloured enamel.
- Store it flat in its box with soft cotton, so the stones do not rub against other pieces.
💎 American diamond, zircon and crystal
- Wipe the stones with a soft dry cloth to bring the sparkle back; lotions and oils dull it.
- Store it on its own: the stones can scratch other jewellery.
- Avoid knocks and drops, and check now and then that no stone is loose.
🤍 Pearls
- Pearls go on last and come off first: perfume and hairspray peel their shine.
- Wipe them with a soft, slightly damp cloth after wearing; no soap or chemicals.
- Lay pearl strings flat to store; hanging stretches the thread.
🧵 Beads, thread and terracotta
- Keep it dry: water weakens threads and fades terracotta and fabric.
- Do not pull or stretch threads and elastic when putting it on.
- Store it flat, away from sunlight, so colours do not fade.
